What I do as a Yoga Instructor

For close to a decade, I have devoted my life as a yoga instructor based here in San Francisco. I have gone through hundreds of hours of training and also have thousands of hours of teaching under my belt. I have literally lost count. This is my life work, my lifestyle, and what I choose. I am so grateful that I chose to listen to my heart.

As a yoga instructor, I help people to bring an awareness as to how they are using their bodies as well as to the mental and emotional patterns that we have all come to identify collectively as part of our socialization and conditioning. Helping people become conscious that the very axis of their experience is located within is also to empower them to become totally present to what is behind the veil of form and running the show.  When we see that all light and darkness, good and bad, sickness and health, joy and misery are generated within, we will also be emboldened to start to heal any imbalance in our bodies, deconstruct our programmed beliefs, hold our emotions with tenderness and to dis-identify from the voice in our head.

In this way, the practice becomes a movement towards release rather than a process of bondage. We have all been conditioned to identify with the shape, color, weight, and appearance of our bodies. This makes the body an end in itself instead of a stepping stone towards that which is fundamental, still and free…

My public and Livestream vinyasa classes are an infusion of joy, sweat, intensity, and no-nonsense flow.
They are a blend of alignment-based instructions, humor (hopefully my jokes land well), and an invitation where students can also feel safe to delve into the deeper spaces within themselves, explore their boundaries, and also to see where their sense of self is rooted in.

My private sessions are about helping students address any concerns they have in a holistic way through breathwork, asana, and inquiry. I also assist students to establish personal goals, if any,  and to overcome any mental blocks that stop them from living the life of their own choosing. So whether you are a beginner or seasoned practitioner, I will help you establish a home practice and the right combination of meditation,  asana (physical), psychological, emotional, and energetic practices that work for you individually.

A beginner can feel overwhelmed in a public class setting, creating unnecessary stress. I can alleviate such concerns by helping you improve your form immediately. Corrections can be directly and efficiently addressed without being lost in translation.

Overcome health concerns

I can help you create a course of action to address injuries or health issues. Specific health concerns require special alterations to one’s practice. I have worked with people who have auto-immune diseases, HIV, CMT, and other medical conditions.
